Tell HN: Lemon squeezy's Slack channel is shutting down
A product support specialist from lemon squeezy (merchant of record) announced a few days ago (18/11/2024) that their slack channel is shutting down and will no longer be available after 22/11/2024.
Why this is significant:
Their email support is a bit of hit and miss. As a customer, I've had first hand experience of my emails being ignored (to be fair, they have successfully handled some of my other emails too). I've also seen others have the same problem, and sometimes after they share their frustration in the slack channel, their cases would get prioritized and resolved. Much like how complaining on HN is effective sometimes.
Over time, the slack channel has become filled with negativity, since most of it is users complaining about their support emails being ignored. So I can see why shutting down the slack may be good for business in the short term for lemon squeezy. This also likely makes it more difficult for their users to publicly complain and potentially have their cases bumped.
I think it would be helpful to have a public chatroom for lemon squeezy users, so I've created a discord server: https://discord.gg/FtwgmUqGXD with the following purpose.
- have a space where we can help each other troubleshoot problems
- share useful tips and content
- if needed, collectively try to make lemon squeezy hear more urgent issues
---------- Below is the message that was shared in slack by the product support specialist. ----------
